Inspired by the cult video game of the same name, Monster Crown became a Trading Card Game after a successful Kickstarter in 2023. While many will visually compare it to Pokemon the designer took effort to make a unique play style. Each player has a board with 5 positions arranged in a pyramid which can be filled with monsters or adventures. To win, a player must completely clear their opponent's board. Instead of tracking health, monsters will be demoted down a step or knocked off the field. Demotions can cause cascades so players need to be careful about what gets placed where.
Studio Aurum has plans to release more expansions but currently the base set, while limited, is a good foundation to the game.
